Pre-Arrival / Pre-Departure Orientation (FAQs)
Do I need to be admitted to a Canadian or American university to attend?
Yes. Admission to a Canadian or American post-secondary institution is a prerequisite to attend this workshop.
If I bring my parents, do they need a ticket?
Yes. But as they are likely the ones paying for your education, we've made it really inexpensive for them to attend. The fee for each parent accompanying a student in only $50 CAD.
What level of English proficiency is required to attend?
As long as you meet the entrance requirements of a Canadian or American post-secondary institution, you have the English proficiency for this workshop. This will be an excellent opportunity to determine whether you will struggle with the level of English used in a Canadian or American classroom.
Are there any dates for Mainland China?
At the present no, but we are working on it. If you would like to be placed on a waitlist for dates in Shanghai, Beijing or Guangzhou, please email alden@aldenhabacon.com.
Will I have to take care of my own travel to Hong Kong?
Yes. All attendees from outside Hong Kong are required to take care of their own travel, accommodations and required visas.
What is the refund policy?
Life happens. A full refund is available within three weeks of the event.
Will there be translators for my parents?
No. If you are bringing your parents, you will likely have to translate for them. We are exploring a separate session for parents who primarily speak Cantonese or Mandarin.
